De vajon kihasználjuk-e tereinket? Ezt vizsgáljuk egy cipősdoboz belakásával, illetve hogy hogyan épülhet e személyes egységekből település a nagyobb közösség számára.

The 'SHOE BOX HOME' introduces children to the possibilities and reasponsibilities of shaping their own environment. We all have homes, rooms that we furnish and use. But do we use them to their full potential? We take a look into this and also consider how these individuals units can be connected and build up a settlement for a larger community.

A cipősdoboz otthon során az ember épített téri igényeit vizsgáljuk, mind egyéni, mind közösségi szinten.
A cipősdoboz, és a belakására használt, mindennapokból ismerős anyagok otthonnyi léptékbe kerülnek, ezáltal elindítják a fantáziát. Minden átlényegül: a tér határává, felületévé és a benne használt tárgyakká épül.
A legalapabb épített környezeti funkció, a lakozás mindannyiunk számára ismerős, így az önismereti fejlődés, az egyéni preferenciák vizsgálatának eszközévé válik.
A semleges, szobányi teret modellező doboz könnyen alakítható tantárgyi narratívák kutató-bemutató felületévé is: a saját otthon-téren túl lehet egy irodalmi mű egy-egy jelenetének helyszíne / különböző élőhelyeket bemutató terrárium, akvárium, istálló / történelmi események diorámája / osztályterem vagy az iskolai színdarab díszletterve.
A térbe belehelyezett, embert modellező léptékfigurák által az arány, lépték, méret itt könnyen tanulható, míg a belehelyezkedést, a modellezés fogalmának megértését is segíti.
A dobozok, mint elemek összeépítéséből, a település vizsgálatából pedig az emberi kapcsolatok, a közösségi lét szükséges keretei és a rendszerré alakító infrastruktúra komplexitásáról lehet mindenkinek korosztályának megfelelően gondolkodni és alkotni.

During the series of Shoe box home tasks we analyze human spatial needs on both individual and community level. The shoe box and all the usual materials from our every-day life are turned into the scale of one's home to spark further ideas. Everything transforms into the edges or surfaces of space and the objects inside.
We are all familiar with the most basic spatial function: dwelling. Therefore, this excersise can be turned into the development off self-knowledge and the exploration of personal preferences.
The neutral room-space of the box easily becomes the research and demonstration interface off any subject's narratives: it can be turned into the scene of works of literature / a terrarium, aquarium or even stalls for animals / the diorama of historical events / the classroom itself or the scenery of the school play.
The scale figures placed inside this space facilitate our learning about proportions, scales and sizes. Through the gesture we move into a the world of modelling.
The use and addition of the boxes as elements helps us understand the structure of human connections, the built framework of a community and the comlexity of the infrastructure that weaves this together. The creation off these settlements can bring appropriate challenges for all ages.
